Paint pretreatment is the foundation for a final paint finish and plays an important role in both function and appearance. This online seminar will discuss the means to properly control pretreatment parameters required to meet the functional and esthetical requirements of the final paint finish. Corrosion resistance and paint adhesion properties are strongly influenced by the pretreatment process. In turn, these performance requirements determine the needed pretreatment controls.
These pretreatment requirements drive control of the pretreatment process with respect to time, temperature and concentration of the various pretreatment stages. These various stages will require attention to keep their defined parameters within proper operating specification.
Control of these parameters can be achieved by various means including, manual control, timer/counter control and/or automatic control. We will discuss each of these methods to achieve practical control of pretreatment systems.
